William Cabell Bruce prepared typescripts and photostats of original letters, diaries, and newspaper articles by and about John Randolph of Roanoke for his book, JOHN RANDOLPH OF ROANOKE, 1773-1833. Also included in this collection are the letters of Nathaniel Macon to Joseph H. Nicholson (1800-1827), correspondence of Creed Taylor (1794-1866), and the diary of R.N. Venable (1791-1792). A large collection of Randolph's correspondence was from James M. Garnett. One volume contains photographs of portraits of Randolph.
